Just like the title I'm looking for a bare body civic hatchback for doing a ls engine conversion. Before anyone says it won't fit I'm not going to listen to it because ill make it happen. Build will consist of a full custom tube chassis with a custom built shortend 9inch ford rear with a 4 link setup, a t56 6 speed and a 2010 7.0 ls7. I'm sure someone has heard of the famous "civette" and yes that is what gave me the idea. The civette is a awesome car but he did somethings I dnt like, for example hemoved the dash/firewall back 6 inchs to compensate for his corvette drivetrain length. I'm not going to do that since ill be using a tradional drive shaft style drive train and not the torque tube vette style. The engine will fit under the stock hood,I've seen a sbc with a highrise intake almost fit so im positve my ls7 will clear with the low intake. I'm going to cut the floor pan out of the car except for the area from the firewall to behind the drivers seat, but I will have to build a driveshaft tunnel. The back section will have a full sheetmetal tub. I'm planing on a full chaissis with 2x3inch square tubing being the heart of the frame rails front to back. Front suspension will most likely be tubalar a arms and f-body rack and pinion. This will be a streetcar also! Air conditioning powersteerin and all!

Now my question is what exactly do you call a civic hatchback in ricer language? ex,eg,?.
And how much am I expecting to pay for one? I've thought about a crx but I'm unsure if ill have enough space for the v8.
But ill be doing the build cheaply, the parts I have already were the high dollar items. Expect for suspension, axles which ill have to buy. I may even consider parting ways with my boat to speed th build up.

I can't wait to pull up to a ricer meet in this car once its done!

First off I want to start off by saying this:

Rice has commonly been defined as those enthusiasts who are immature. To be clear, ricers are NOT simply those that drive an import vehicle. Ricers are those that act foolish and make bad decisions, which give the automotive community a bad name. The brand of the vehicle has nothing to do with it. I am not saying you are hating on Civics or anything, I would hope your not because your building one, but this group here is mixed with all makes and models, we do not discriminate.

Now thats out of the way, it depends what you want as to the "Dx, ex, etc." comment. (The Civette that everyone is most familiar with is an EK)

EX, DX, LX, HX, etc are all submodels that descibe what the car came with from the factory. (These are basic descriptions, not gonna name them all.)

HX & CX = Lightest models, no power options, etc.
DX & LX = Had some power options, with no sunroof.
EX & SI = Fully loaded, with sunroof. (SI came with a "bigger" motor.)

EF, EG, EK etc. are the models descibed by the year. (Ex. an EG Coupe or Hatch would describe a 92-95')

- 88-91' = EF (Square body) $100-500 Depending on shell condition. (Interior and exterior present, etc.)
Image
- 92-95' = EG (Round body) $500-1,500 Depending on shell condition. (Interior and exterior present, etc.)
Image
- 96-00' = EK (A mix of both, newer body) $600-2,000 Depending on shell condition. (Interior and exterior present, etc.)

As for the prices, everyone has their own opinion on what their car is worth before they sell it to you and you may get lucky and find someone who doesn't know or care about what they have and get an EG or EK for $200-300 I have seen it happen before.

Hope that helps you with your decision. Good luck with your build man, it will be nice to see something different on the road but your going to have your Haters, personally with my EK if its not JDM its not touching my car. :D (Personal opinion on things.) Good luck again!

Its like the 2002 Civic hatch. I like how they look.

Ingole: You should LS7 swap a Chevette.
